About Me

Salud María Jiménez Zafra holds a PhD in Computer Science, a Specialist in Internet Information Processing and a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics from Universidad de Jaén. She is part of the research group SINAI (TIC 209) and belongs to the Spanish Society for Natural Language Processing, the PLN.net network and the DiverTLes community. In 2014 she was awarded a predoctoral contract of the FPU Program of the MECD, in 2020 a Juan de la Cierva Formación contract and, in 2021, an R&D&I contract of the Junta de Andalucía PAIDI 2020. Her scientific interests are focused on Artificial Intelligence, specifically in the field of Natural Language Processing, being her specialty negation processing in Spanish and sentiment analysis, a topic on which she conducted her doctoral thesis, which was awarded as the best thesis in Natural Language Processing at the XXXVI International Conference of the SEPLN 2020. Throughout her career she has been honored with 7 research awards. Her research is currently focused on hate speech, hope speech and early detection of risky behaviour such as eating disorders. She is also one of the author of the book "Curso de Programación Python" published by Anaya.
